Mission Update
 
 
Supplies are Needed for Flood Buckets: Due to the many natural disasters in our country and the world, there is a great need to restock supplies of clean up buckets. Please look over the supply list below and shop for us. You should bring supplies to the fireplace room by Sept. 12. You can also donate money to help purchase needed supplies. The approximate cost of one bucket is $56, but any amount will help. Make checks payable to FPC and write Flood Buckets on the memo line. All donations are needed by Sept. 12 so we can have all the supplies ready for Servant Sunday.
 
 
Supplies for one Bucket

1 5gal. bucket with resealable lid                                          

5 scouring pads

1 pkg. cleaning towels (18 reusable like Easy Wipes)                      

1 scrub brush

1 box dry laundry detergent, 50-78 oz.                                              

l pkg. clothes pins, 48-50

l liquid concentrated household cleaner (like Lysol) 12 oz.  

7 sponges, assorted sizes

l bottle disinfectant dish soap (like Dawn) 24-28 oz.           

 5 dust masks

Clothesline two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.                                      

1 pair work gloves

2 pair latex gloves (like Playtex)                                                       

1 24-28 count roll heavy duty trash bags                             

1 bottle insect repellent (pump, drops or lotion, not aerosol) 6-9 oz.

 
Together in Mission

Evangelism Sunday is September 26. This Sunday serves as a reminder that we are to share the “Good News” of Jesus Christ and to invite others into community with us. We encourage you to invite a friend, neighbor, family member or a church member to join us in worship that day.

 

As an extension, we are encouraged to show compassion to others in our larger community by engaging in a “Servant Saturday”. In order to accommodate more of you, and your busy schedules, the Mission Committee is planning two Saturday events. On Sept. 18 and/or Sept. 25, we will work at Survival House sorting and organizing supplies. We will also assist JOCO HELP with minor construction, painting, sorting and organizing. We also need a crew to assemble flood buckets here at church. Please sign up in the fireplace room at church on Sunday mornings to participate on one or both Saturdays. The last day to sign up will be Sept. 12.

 
 
Parent's Day Out Program
 

 

The Warrensburg 1st Presbyterian Parent's Day Out program was established in the fall of 1987. A committee was formed under the direction of Reverend Alex Wales, and  the program was created as an outreach of the Church. It now meets three days a week during the school year, and is open to anyone in Warrensburg and  the surrounding area. Charlotte Gaw became director in the spring of 1988 and remains in tha position.
