Upcoming Activities for FPC Youth and Families:
Cookie Bakers Needed:
From time to time the Evangelism Team delivers cookies to visitors. We are looking for volunteers who might serve on our "Welcome Task Force" by baking for us. Please contact Cyndi Urbanski if you could help out. Thanks.
Get Well Cards:
While it is a bit too early in Janet Stewart’s recovery to receive visitors, she would appreciate a card. Her address is Janet Stewart, c/o Menorah Medical Center, 5721 West 119th St., Overland Park, KS 66209.
Thank you:
A BIG THANKS goes to the youth! Marilyn and I delivered the pillows to the hospice program on Thursday, which the youth made last Sunday. The hospice program really appreciated the different sizes/shapes of pillows. Thanks again for the time and efforts that the youth put in to make the wonderful pillows. We greatly appreciated your efforts and so does the hospice program. Thanks, Marilyn Harding and Paige Young
Opportunity to Serve Our Community:
There are children living in Survival House who would greatly benefit from being read to. If you would like to do this, choose your time between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and choose the day of the week that works with your schedule. Call Marilyn Mitchell at 429-2301 to schedule.
Minute for Mission:
On Sunday, February 26, a special guest in our worship will be Mr. Jimmy Alvarez. Mr. Alvarez is a representative from “La Patria” School in Guatemala. Dr. Edward M. Haymaker, who had very significant ties to First Presbyterian Church, was instrumental in the early development of the school. Mr. Alvarez will be sharing a few words in our Minute for Mission, concerning the school.
Youth Fundraiser Lunches:
The Christian Education Committee is asking for volunteers to host the monthly luncheons beginning in September. Proceeds go to youth activities in our church. If you are willing to host September, October, November or December, please contact Charlotte Gaw at 429-6363.
Special thanks to: Bill Farr for preparing the beverages and Cathi Truesdale for bringing the donuts to make the UCM Parade an excellent event. Thanks also to everyone who attended.
