Labyrinth Walk: The Labyrinth returns for the month of October. Join Pastor Heather and walk the Labyrinth Tuesday evenings (10-3 – 10-24) from 7-8 pm.

WANTED: Volunteers to “escort” clients through the Food Center during the month of November. Need folks on Tuesdays and Thursday, plus Monday 11/20 & 11/27. You will be on your feet from 12:45 – 4:00 pm. It is tiring, but it is so worth it! Please contact Susan Langston.

First Presbyterian Church is responsible for staffing the Johnson County Food Center in November. We need people to escort clients through the Food Center from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays (except for Thurs., Nov. 23rd – Thanksgiving) and on Monday, Nov. 20th and Monday, Nov. 27th. We’re also looking for a few people to help with Christmas Store invitations – this is a “sitting” job! Please check your calendar and let either Nancy Jones or Susan Langston know when you can volunteer. We’re working on the schedule now. Thank you!

New Information About Your Photography Session: We hope to include all our church friends and members in our new directory. You will need to have a new photo taken, since Lifetouch does not have photos saved. Photography will take place at church Nov. 10, 11 and 12. Monday through Friday, you may schedule a time for you and your family to come for your session by visiting our church Facebook page or our church Website. Both contain a link. We will also be scheduling appointments at church on Sunday mornings, beginning October 15. Here are a few things to consider: 1) You should plan to spend about 45 minutes. Photographers will take group and individual photos of your family. Following photography, you will review and choose which one to be included in our directory. You will receive a free copy of this photo (8X11”). You will also be offered the chance to order other photos. You are under no obligation to purchase photos. We will have brochures available at church, with options and prices, before your session. Military members, first responders and seniors receive a 20% discount on purchases. Stop by our table on Sunday to pick up information. 2) You may invite other family members or friends to participate in photography. They would also receive a free photo, but not be included in our directory. You will need to schedule an appointment time for them. 3) If you will be out of town during these dates, we can arrange for you to be photographed at another participating church on another date. Information will be available at our Sunday sign-ups. We will arrange for photos of “at home” members who are in Warrensburg, but cannot come to the church for a photo. If you have questions, please contact Cyndi Urbanski, Charlotte Gaw or Pastor Heather.

Are you at that time in your life when you are working to offer loving care and support to aging parents? Wish you had a shoulder to cry on or someone to share your joys and pains with? Join us for support and conversation the 3rd Sunday of each month as we accompany one another on life’s journey. Starting Sunday, October 22 at 3 pm.

Fellowship at the Farm:   Thank you to Dianna Bryant and Jeff Hartle for hosting a wonderful event on Sunday, October 15 at their farm. Also thanks to the Stewardship Committee for helping setup, cleanup and furnishing many items. And thanks to people who contributed food/desserts to share. Delicious food, great hayride, and good fellowship was had by all!!

Bible Study Continues Saturday, October 21 -- “Who Is Jesus?” According to Other Abrahamic Faiths: We will meet at 10:00 AM, in the back room of Old Drum Coffee Shop, on Holden St. downtown. You are welcome to join us. It is helpful to read Genesis 12:1-4, Matthew 1:1 and Galatians 3:6-7; 4: 23-29 before coming. If you are familiar with views of Jesus in Judaism or Islam, please come and share. If you would like a copy of the lesson ahead of time, there are several in the church office. You can also talk to Cheryl Landers, Charlotte Gaw or Cyndi Urbanski.

We are beginning to plan a 2018 trip to Malawi and are looking at dates around July 23rd – August 2nd . Now is the time to prayerfully consider if this is the year that God is calling you to mission in Malawi.

Yoga Class with Judith Carman at 10 am!! The class is in Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church. Cost $50.00 for 6 weeks. Call Charlotte Gaw with any questions.

Communion servers gather at 10:30 am to prepare and pray before serving Communion.
