Book Group to Study AN INVISIBLE THREAD: The book group will meet Monday, August 28 at 7 p.m., at my house to discuss An Invisible Thread. If you would like to join the group, let me know and I will order a book for you ($5). We will meet one time for discussion after we have read the book before moving on to our next selection. (Even if you do not want to join the discussion, I will be glad to order a book for you.) Susan Seipp . An Invisible Thread by Laura Schroff and Alex Thresniowski is the true story of Schroff's chance (or maybe not chance??) meeting with an 11-yr. old panhandler named Maurice on Manhattan's streets. She tells the story of how both lives were changed by their now-31 yr. relationship. It will help us explore our own thoughts and feelings about overcoming obstacles in our childhood (both Laura and Maurice had difficult childhoods, Maurice's more so than hers) and helping those with less than we have . . . when is it merely assuaging our own guilt vis-a-vis true giving out of love. The title comes from an ancient Chinese proverb: "An invisible thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, and circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle. But it will never break."
Yoga Class with Judith Carman at 10 am!! The class is in Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church. Cost $50.00 for 6 weeks. Call Charlotte Gaw with any questions.
